Our conviction
Closely associated with food products, packaging must reconcile respect for food safety and low environmental impact. In order to reduce the environmental impact of packaging, PAUL limits their use to what is strictly necessary, and favors a design made from sustainable resources that are compatible with end-of-life recycling.
Our initiatives
• Reduce the volume of packaging given to consumers
• Promote the use of consumer packaging made from renewable resources
• Limit the use of plastic packaging
• Market reusable packaging
• Implement selective sorting solutions
Our ambition
• Switch the lids of our hot drinks to cardboard by the end of 2021
• Have 100% of our consumer packaging in paper/cardboard by 2023
• Manufacture our paper packaging exclusively from sustainable resources by 2024
Our progress
• 95% of the weight of consumer packaging is paper/cardboard
• 57% of our paper/cardboard packaging is FSC or PEFC certified
• Our bags are made of unbleached kraft paper and printed with water-based inks
• We have done away with plastic straws
• Our disposable cutlery, like the stirrers for your coffee to go, are made of wood
• We have developed a range of infinitely reusable packaging: shopping bags, foldable canvas bags, washable cutlery sets (composed of 75 % of … recycled wheat straw)
